How many have your name?

According to this, there are only 335 people in the country who share my last name. I know who at least four of them are.

If I really lose VMars, Gilmore Girls, and Studio 60 all at once, in addition to The OC, my 07-08 TV schedule is going to be really sad and empty.

I'm just saying.

And snow is silent. So they can tell me that there's six inches of snow outside right now, but I've been in my bed since 10:00 last night, so I really have no concept of the world.

I'm having these downright epic dreams lately. And the ones that are less epic are absurdly meta. I analyze/talk about my dreams in other dreams.

I know. I just blew your mind.

I always change my layout at night and then wake up in the morning (or... whenever) and forget that I did it.

After I went back and forth with three different layouts and two different styles, I was too fed up to bother with the color scheme. It's not staying like this. There is something nice about the minimalist look, though.

The thing that bugs me is not getting to see my icon with every entry. Boo.

I know I'm uncoordinated. But I never thought I was clumsy until today. For the second time in four weeks, I have fallen down and gotten hurt doing an ordinary, everyday task.

I was in the shower at 3am today (because that's when I do things) and there was a mishap with reaching over to get my loofah thingy and ALL of my stuff fell into the tub, taking me with it. I don't even know how I managed to get so hurt. I sliced up my left hand (on WHAT?) in three different places and my giant-ass bruises were showing up by the time I got out of the shower.

And my bed is three feet off the ground, so THAT's not so easy.

Um, on a brighter note, when I went to buy groceries, some guy was walking a cute little tan pug and it made me smile. I can't wait for next week!

Who's rocking the two VCRS tonight? *points to self*

When I say that someone has been jackhammering outside my window all day, I am not exaggerating.

It's 6:45pm, and they first woke me up with this crap at 10am. I looked out my window and DIRECTLY underneath it is a ConEd truck and a gigantic hole in the street.

Guys, some of us like to sleep during the day.

Okay, HELP?

It's time for another open request to my FList, thanks to my own stupidity. I took a nap this afternoon. Of course. And slept until 8:30.

But Jodi, didn't you set your cell phone alarm for 7:00, just in case?

Why yes, I did. And then I turned it off and went back to sleep.

Can someone pleeeeeeease help me out with finding some way to get tonight's Gilmore Girls, as I (obviously) only saw the second half? And please note: I DON'T UNDERSTAND BITTORENT. I tried it last year and I failed miserably. One of you lovelies had to get me a non-BT copy, for which I was eternally grateful.

Please? Take pity on me. And I promise to never take a nap on a new-TV night again, even if it IS at four in the afternoon.

Also, while I was asleep, I was dreaming of LA mishaps again. So it's not like it was completely wasted sleeptime.

And finally--- My Name is Earl really is funny. Go figure. If only the redneck thing weren't so fucking annoying.

Sadly, I don't have much to say about the Emmys. This was (probably) the first time since I started watching in 1996 that I didn't camp out all night in front of the TV in Emmy glee. I was Milo-viewing and didn't get home until 9:30, but I've caught up on most of what I missed.

Cut for the west coast or other latecomers.Collapse )

Next year, maybe I'll care about some of the nominees and can revert to my All-Day Emmy Extravaganza of years past. And I can yell at my TV are get far too excited about every little detail. It'll be a good time.

This afternoon was one big comedy of errors. Rolling duffel bag + 6,000,000% humidity + the last train leaving for two hours + PATH + crazyass attempt to cut off train at source + not knowing the exact time it would leave = sweaty, frustrated, exhausted me.

But I made the train by a whole six minutes, which was miraculous. And then I lost my ticket. Eventually found it tucked inside the front page of last Sunday's Times. Did not die and/or have to spend my entire afternoon in a train station, though I came close to both.

Yes, it's taken me the entire week to get through two days of newspaper.

I miss HBO. But thanks to handy-dandy VCR timer, get to watch three episodes of Real Time this weekend. YAY!

So there I am, sitting at the table, eating my dinner and reading Entertainment Weekly. It's my Friday ritual, because I am that interesting. In the middle of the mag, there's a big ad for Jason Lee's new sitcom. I turn the page, and the ad STARTS TALKING!

Scared the shit out of me.

Magazines should not make noise. End of story.
